Sannat Feast ’26 is a traditional church feast in Sannat, Gozo, bringing together the community for a week of religious and cultural celebrations. The organisers needed photography throughout the feast week to document the events, people and atmosphere as they unfolded.
I photographed the feast across the week, working around the changing pace and conditions of the celebrations. The focus was on capturing more than just the main events, including the people taking part, the details and traditions, the movement of the celebrations, and the moments that give the feast its character.
The photography was approached as a record of the celebration as a whole, from the larger gatherings to the smaller moments happening around them. This resulted in a collection of images documenting Sannat Feast ’26 and the people who make the celebration what it is.
